Life Talks ||| Writing to Express…Not Impress.

Let’s make all problems in our lives as short-lived as New Year’s resolutions. When I first heard this idea, I laughed at it and then at myself. Some of my past New Year’s resolutions didn’t even make it past February.

The Journey So Far

When 2026 began, I was determined to make incremental changes to my health and start living better. Here I am, today (April 10th) after 100 days of 2026:

  • Burned 1000 calories every single day.
  • Completed a minimum of 45 minutes of workout every day.
  • Resting heart rate has improved from 58 bpm to 54 bpm.
  • Average daily blood sugar stayed at or below 125.
  • Biked (in Peloton) a total of 1350 miles, averaging 13.5 miles a day.
  • Worked out for a total of 93 hours.
  • Lost 11 lbs from the start of this year.

The Real challenges

During this 100 days, I was on multiple work trips. I had 5 a.m. flights, flight delays, dinner meetings, sick days, and less sleep due to kids being sick. Despite these challenges, I never skipped a workout for a single day – as my Guru Mahatria says, I put myself in a choice-less state.

Yes, that meant I completed my treadmill workout at 11:20 p.m. to hit my goal, did my workout with only 4 hours of sleep, and walked around in my living room for 15 minutes before going to bed to hit my 1000 calorie goals. But the feeling of accomplishment, joy, and self-confidence that comes from seeing this progress is worth it.

What’s NextMy Next 100-Day Commitments

Now that I’ve made these changes a part of my daily routine, I’m excited to add more to my list starting immediately:

  • Eliminate added sugars, candy, and desserts from my diet.
  • No snacking between meals.
  • No food after 8 p.m.
  • Publish at least one blog post per week.

I’m sharing this publicly so I stay accountable. If you’re on your own health journey, drop your current streak, goal, or one commitment you’re making in the comments below. Let’s cheer each other on!

I was unaware that Quitters Day coincides with the second Friday in January, a time when motivation tends to decline and individuals abandon their goals. I am waiting to meet the new Yagya in the next 100 days.
